The IDEATE Fellowship provides one year of specialized, interdisciplinary experiential training in primary care or behavioral health settings, coursework and seminars to 15 second-year MSW students. A student stipend of $12,500 is provided for the successful completion of the one-year fellowship. Students who live or have experience working in medically underserved areas are particularly encouraged to apply.

The Goidel Gerontological Social Work Fellowship provides one year of specialized experiential training in practicum settings serving older adults, targeted coursework, and monthly colloquia to explore social work careers in aging. The fellowship is available to advanced-year MSW students. A student stipend of $2,000 – $10,000 is provided for the successful completion of the one-year fellowship.

The gives social work students an opportunity to join the mental health workforce and learn about evidence-based treatments for individuals diagnosed with serious mental illness, including assertive community treatment (ACT), wellness self-management, integrated dual disorders, treatment for substance abuse and mental illness recovery-oriented practices.

What does the program offer?
Each interested in a healthcare career will join an interprofessional team of students. Participants will work with patients to identify issues associated with social determinants of health and propose potential solutions that will aim to reduce hospitalizations and emergency room visits.
Who can participate?
This fellowship is open to students who are seeking practicum placements located in the Hudson Valley region. Applicants who are entering their BSW junior year or MSW generalist (first-year) placement in the fall semester must be willing to commit to participation for two full academic years (in two different placement sites).
